Materials image Analysis System
Digital Image Correlation(DIC) has been used in research labs for some years, but cost, complexity and compute have prevented a transition to routine testing. Cameras and AI are used in ever increasing areas of life of due to the significant improvements they bring in detection and analysis.
MiAS is image analysis specifically designed to improve monotonic BMD tests.
Description
MiAS can be used in place of standard I-FIT, Ideal CT and IDEAL RT frames
It can be used in any testing machine able to run monotonic BMD tests and will be directly integrated with the Humboldt HM-512A.
Cameras film both sides of the specimens under test
Integrated microscope lights provide consistent illumination
The user has the option to enter expanded test (meta) data
Videos and images are linked to date, time and embedded meta data for each test specimen
Prior to testing the software determines if specimens are correctly positioned by the technician
As MiAS is designed for 150mm diameter specimens, it can also be used to record images of Hamburg and OT specimens
QR codes can be used for frame and specimen tracking
The software measures and records changes in height and horizontal diameter
Future modules will detect and analyze crack propagation
MiAS can be used as a BMD machine verification tool, to assess performance under real test conditions
Images and meta data can be used in dispute resolution situations, or to investigate unexplained changes in results
