See what your BMD tests are missing

InSight adds two-sided visual analysis to the asphalt tests your lab already runs.

InSight is a practical camera-based system for routine asphalt mixture testing. It fits into existing test frames and records both faces of the specimen during IDT, IDEAL-CT, I-FIT, High-Temperature IDT and IDEAL-RT tests.

Instead of relying only on load-displacement curves and index values, InSight shows how the specimen deforms, where cracking localises, whether both faces behave the same way, and what happens after peak load.

No speckle pattern. No specialist DIC setup. No replacement test frame.

BMD testing for the 21st century: visual evidence from the tests you already run.

Current measurement framework

InSight is being developed around a simple principle: extract more useful information from the asphalt tests laboratories already run. The current framework separates mature descriptors from provisional research directions, so validated outputs are not confused with metrics still under development.

The key point: InSight already provides useful descriptors of crack opening, post-peak visual motion and side-to-side consistency. Some phase markers and load-transfer metrics remain under validation before they should be treated as fixed product outputs.
